On September 10, 2003, about two weeks after my 49th birthday I suffered a myocardial infarction in my left anterior descending artery. My left ventricle ejection fraction from my most recent test is about 41%. Normal is 55% – 75%. If you don’t know what “ejection fraction” is, here is a definition.
Since my heart attack, I’ve been very interested in recovering and preserving my health as much as I can. I have become very interested in antioxidants in particular. The purpose of this blog is to present articles and links to research in antioxidants, heart disease and general health. I will also interject my ongoing experiences as one who has suffered a heart attack.

Just happened upon your blog – interesting – what in your opinion is the master anti-oxidant and what is the best source?
Thanks,

I believe the body’s chief and most powerful antioxidant is glutathione. Our bodies produce this antioxidant, but as we age, production declines. There are many glutathione supplements available on the market today. I haven’t researched them at this point, being more focused on plant-based antioxidants.
